Product Development Engineers

We are currently seeking experienced and passionate Extrusion Technician/Engineers to join our team. Working on highly innovative products in a fast growing environment / industry sector. CathRx has recently received CE Marking for a full range of both single use and reposable EP diagnostics catheter range. Off the back of this milestone, successful candidates will have the opportunity to make a meaningful start up contribution as CathRx embarks on next stage of their product development road map. We have a production cell consisting of automated extrusion, winding, braiding and high end measuring equipment in cleanroom conditions. As we scale and ramp we need a person of exceptional detail and ownership to help us build this.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in production of high accuracy extrusion &/or injected parts for medical devices, ideally in highly regulated industry, and ideally with catheter experience;
  • Deep knowledge of extrusion processes (tube, pressure), winding (pitch, speed), braiding (pitch, material), within tightly toleranced assemblies;
  • Exceptional mechanical aptitude and confidence handling fine tooling within a micro-engineering context
  • Experience in micro engineering with high accuracy tooling, fixturing & jigging;
  • Experience with supplier/manufacturer/toolmaker engagement and management;
  • Trade/TAFE qualifications in toolmaking/fitting/machining/ or in a relevant course (eg Certificate II in Engineering – MEM20105 or equivalent)

Full training against a baseline set of work instructions will be given along with coaching and supervision to ensure you can effectively deliver and help us setup Australia’s next device company.
